Florida pop-punk band cut the cord. are turning up the volume on their newest single, “BENT!”

The track is messy and exhausted, featuring a burst of catchy anger and everything that comes with feeling overwhelmed (emphasis on the anger).

Coming in hot ahead of their debut EP, blush., which is set to release on October 23rd, “BENT!” shows that cut the cord. aren't keeping anything bottled up. It's like a spiral of pent-up emotions repeating in your head until you can't take it anymore and just let everything out. There's something pretty satisfying about hearing all of that frustration find a place to land.

For Dylan, the song came after working through the emotions left behind by the band's previous single, '10th Avenue North,' "There’s an overall vibe of feeling like a burden for this anger and sadness I carried, and ‘BENT!’ was the explosion of those feelings."

Something we love about the track? cut the cord. doesn't leave the EP sitting in the dark. “BENT!” closes with a recording of Dylan and one of his best friends laughing over a "dumb joke", a reminder that life isn't only the hard stuff.

Dylan calls it “a full circle moment,” which gives it gives the song an ending that feels much more human.

“BENT!” follows the band's track “10th Avenue North,” and together, the two drops paint a picture of what blush. is shaping up to be: messy feelings, relationship fallout, identity crises, and figuring it all out. The debut EP kicks off with “(ctc.),” a spoken-word collaboration with Dylan's ACTUAL therapist, before moving through the emotional aftermath of a relationship across four tracks. TOP8's Take?
