New Music Friday: Fresh Faves of the Week - October 2nd, 2026 – What Songs Came Out This Week? (Find New Releases)
OCTOBER 2nd, 2026 –– Just in: this week's hottest new music releases and fresh faves all in one place.
Guess what? We are back this week with more fresh tunes for your ears, from Tropic Gold, From First To Last and Of Virtue we have you covered.
First up is Of Virtue, who released their new album 'Death Of The Altar'. The project is a strong representation of what can happen when you fall in love and give everything you have until it becomes destructive. It also has themes of grief and mental struggles throughout, which can be extremely difficult to deal with, but at some point we can all relate to it.
Huge news – From First To Last has brought a brand new EP, 'We Were Bleeding Anyway'. Front to back, it gets a heavy 10/10 from us. We couldn't be any more excited about this new era, and Lil Lotus was the perfect choice to take over vocals.
Strange Company has announced a new single, 'Waves'. It's a follow-up to their last release, 'Do You Feel Numb?' Visually and musically, the drop is dark and gives some emo elements, which is exactly what we need, especially heading into October.
Here are our HEAVY HITTERS of the week:
Blind Channel has released 'Into The Void' featuring none other than Aaron Pauly from Of Mice & Men, PLUS their new album titled 'Painstream' is coming out October 30th. You best believe it's going to be a banger if it's anything like this new single.
Blind Channel says, "Into The Void’ is our final standalone single from the upcoming 'Painstream' album before the whole thing drops. The song was inspired by the Fermi Paradox and the Wow! signal. If Earth really is the only place in the universe where life exists, we’re not exactly doing a great job of sustaining it. Aaron from Of Mice & Men jumped aboard for this one and made sure the mosh pits will suck people in like black holes.”
Next up, we have Hatebreed's latest, 'Carrion Choir '. If you're looking for your next favourite hardcore band, well, here they are. This new single carries a ton of weight and will have you screaming along with them. It's very cathartic and catchy; if you love hardcore, you will love Hatebreed.
Honourable mention to Imminence, who gave us their full-length album 'Axis Mundi' and wow, they did not disappoint. There were definitely mixed reactions previous to the album drop, but one thing we can all agree on now is that this is a strong contender for album of the year.
That's all we have for now! See you next week.
