Oso Oso Drops “it’s all bait” Ahead of New Album 'an exchange of information'.

Wake up – New Oso Oso just dropped. Plus, the new album is almost here.
Long Island songwriter Jade Lilitri just released the new single “it’s all bait,” which is the latest glimpse of Oso Oso’s forthcoming sixth album, an exchange of information, that will be hitting our playlists on November 6 via Feral Twin.
“it’s all bait” is a brisk, hook-heavy track that pulls from melodic indie and emo that has stayed a part of Oso Oso’s sound, while continuing the loose narrative threaded throughout the upcoming album.
At this point in the story, the narrator is still holding onto the idea that the things they want are worth chasing, even if it doesn't feel that way. “The narrator is begging the listener or themselves or a lover or something to not give up on this dream because everything else is designed to make you give up and it’s all bullshit-it’s all bait,” Jade explains.
The track follows the previously released singles “know you know me better” and “the nights,” giving listeners another look at where an exchange of information is headed before its November 6 release.
As the album unfolds, that initial certainty starts to shift. The protagonist begins questioning whether the dreams they’re chasing are actually real, or if they’ve become another form of delusion.
“I think my songwriting is probably rooted in wanting to be loved but not domesticated, enlightened but not disillusioned, wanting to be your own person but also belong,” Jade shares. “These things all seem impossible; I don’t know if that's pessimistic but it feels real. That’s the truth I’m trying to dig at. That’s what has always seemed like the point of all of this for me as an artist: exploring and sitting in the balance whatever this rollercoaster is.”
The new Oso Oso record came together quickly. Jade spent two straight weeks at BirthdayLand Studios just outside of Albany with producer/engineer Dan Maddalone, working from morning until night and even sleeping at the studio.
This record's approach was pretty different from the 2024 release life till bones, which was built piece by piece in the studio. For an exchange of information, most of the guitar parts and vocal melodies were already mapped out before recording began, allowing the songs to come together in just a few days before the band built outward from there.
Across the 12 tracks, the album moves between melodic rock, indie, emo and punk while focusing on the songwriting. Six albums later, Oso Oso is still evolving, but keeping that Oso Oso vibe we all know and love.
