NEW RELEASE – Savings are back from hiatus with new drop 'Stressed Out'

New chapter incoming: Albuquerque alternative/pop-rock outfit Savings are officially back with 'Stressed Out', their first new release since 2024. For Savings, this is truly the start of a new era that has been built through creating music because they want to, not because they're trying to keep up with what social media wants.

The track blends alternative rock with pop and a twist of subtle hip-hop influences; this is a step outside of the box for Savings and moves the band's sound in a different direction while holding onto the vulnerability that they've been known for.

"This was a step into new territory for us; it's a step toward where we're headed sonically while still giving a nod to our past and who we are at our core. We truly feel like this is some of our best work creatively...” shares vocalist Sam Wilmot.

This drop follows the release of How Do You Feel?, the band's 2024 EP that had a more melodic feel. After that record, Savings did something that feels almost unheard of these days: they stepped away and took a break.

Rather than the band trying to beat the algorithm we all learn to feed and are forced to keep up with, Savings took time to reconnect with themselves, figure out what kind of tunes they actually wanted to create, and rediscover why they started making music together in the first place, which you can hear throughout 'Stressed Out.' The song plays on uncertainty, realizing that some of the hardest times can shape who we end up becoming.

"This song means so much to us," the band explains. "We've gone through a lot of growing pains over the past year or so, and that's exactly what made us into who we are today. This song is about that. Knowing that we get to continue creating means everything to us, and we're just grateful to have the opportunity to do so."

One thing we know? This comeback is genuine. Savings aren't trying to recreate who they were in 2024; they're showing the world the band they've become after all the work they've put in to finding themselves. 'Stressed Out' is available now via Graveboy Records.
