Scary Kids Scaring Kids officially has a new, full-time lead vocalist.

Albert Schweizer, who has been with the Arizona-based post-hardcore band for three and a half years, the band recently made it official, marking the first time in more than a decade that they have had a permanent vocalist in their lineup.

Schweizer will be featured on all live performances and releases moving forward, beginning with their brand new single ”Something in the Water,” and upcoming record, RISE.

“Albert has been a huge part of this band for years, on and off stage,” keyboardist Pouyan Afkary and lead guitarist Chad Crawford said in a joint statement. “This feels less like making a change and more like acknowledging what’s been true to us for a long time.”

The band has announced an additional lineup addition, with Colton “Coba” Westerman now on bass and vocals, and touring musicians Josh Kikta on guitar and Kash Jaeger on drums. Kikta and Jaeger also contributed to the creation of RISE.

Both Schweizer and Westerman have already been involved in the next chapter of the band by contributing to songwriting, arrangements and the overall creative direction.

The band’s newest single, “Something in the Water,” off the upcoming album RISE, is their heaviest work to date, but still contains the emotion and dynamic sound Scary Kids Scaring Kids is known for. At the same time, they want the new material to stand on its own, and not require new fans to catch up on 20 years of history to understand what the band is, who they are, or where they are headed.

Check out “Something in the Water,” now available on streaming platforms, and check out Scary Kids Scaring Kids on Sunday, Nov. 15 at the Vans Warped Tour in Orlando, Florida.
