DONEFOR SCRATCHES AN ITCH IN YOUR BRAIN YOU DIDN'T EVEN KNOW EXISTED
DONEFOR from Fort Myers, Florida, is self-described as ADHD-Core;
What does that even mean? We found out.
“ADHD core essentially means metalcore without limits. We like to experiment with fusing other genres into our sound.”
The contrast of their sound works; they touch on genres like reggae, mixing those influences with their signature metalcore sound (run and listen to 'IDGAF'). They show us they can get softer on their latest self-titled release with the song “Soaring (Reimagined): a take on the original track off of their previous album “Sleep On It”. They range from classic pop-punk songs to headbanging metalcore rippers (they can get heavy, we see you S.L.A.M). They have screams that will rip you apart, and they pair seamlessly with the clean vocals and fun instrumentals. There’s no specific style they lean towards, but it’s DONEFOR to the core.
“We’re huge fans of reggae, so you’ll hear some of that. Sometimes, we get really into hardcore music and make a super heavy song. You’ll also often see us write a pop punk song. ADHD-Core is our way of experimenting under the umbrella of heavy music.”
The 5-piece has a spark that some of the largely successful earlier bands in the genre showed us in the 2010s. All around, they cross genre boundaries, but still have a signature metalcore feel that really drew us in (and we know you’ll love their stuff too).
Their opinion on which song new listeners should spin first?

“REALIGNED, this song is one of our favorite songs to play, and it perfectly summarizes what we are as a band. We have all three of our vocalists on that track, so it’s very exciting. You will also hear some reggae influence with a heavy breakdown.”
REALIGNED showcases their diverse sound, the reggae textures get you moving, the chorus sticks, and the metalcore elements hit like a punch to the face in the best way possible.

Not only does DONEFOR have a unique sound, they also have an impressive list of features in their discography, from Kellin Quinn to Jo. Flip, they are quickly making waves. They have everything it takes to be the band that stays stuck in your head. The coolest part? They only formed in 2022, already pack venues with fans on their very own headlining tours, and have even opened up for iconic acts like Hawthorne Heights. How did they get to this point, and what's been their favorite part so far?
“It seems like it has been a short period of time, but the reality is, we have been grinding at this for a while now. For over three years, we have been working really hard and spending countless hours every single day to try to spread the word of our music. The coolest moment for sure was getting to meet Kellin Quinn after working on Paradigm with him. He invited all of us to his sold-out show in Orlando and took the time to meet us and film some content with us to promote the track.”
That speaks volumes about the hard work that the DONEFOR crew has put into getting their name out there. You can tell they’re doing this out of their genuine love for music and have everything it takes to take over the scene, including their really cool name:
“Riley came up with it (the band name) while on a date with his fiancée, they were just spitballing names that sounded cool and landed on DONEFOR.”

What do they have going on next?

“A lot more national-level tours, opening for big bands, and hopefully big festivals! We’re trying to network with some upper-level bands to take us on tours. We will be hitting the road for a mini tour with Ballyhoo! And Auroawave in January!”
Our take? DONEFOR definitely has a spot on our playlist; we’re all about their ability to step outside of the box and blend their favorite genres to create their very own sound. This band has an electric energy that makes them special, as well as the drive to achieve anything they set their mind to. We know you'll be seeing them everywhere sooner or later.
