AUGUST 14TH, 2026 –– Just in: this week's coolest new music releases and fresh faves all in one place.
Welcome back for another Fresh Faves Friday! This week we have just as many new drops, including new tunes from Wavves x Say Anything, nothing, nowhere and Wheatus PLUS tunes from some TOP8 faves like Endswell to kick off your weekend.
Starting off, we have Movements with 'Live by the Sword', a track about realizing the person you used to know doesn't always deserve your forgiveness and karma always comes back. If Not For Me dropped their new album 'Where The Light Begins To Fade ', and it's already packed with amazing features; it is deeply personal. Vocalist Patrick Glover shares: “Making Where The Light Begins To Fade was a very new experience for me. It felt like I had to approach songwriting very differently than ever before. This was the first time we had to write and record an album in between heavy touring. This was the first time we tried writing songs with as many people as we could to try and figure out what works or doesn’t work for us. This was the first time we had to leave so many demos that never made it to the finish line behind (something that’s really hard for me to do). And not to say this album doesn’t have a lot of extremely personal moments, but this was the first time I didn’t write an entire record from a place of my own sadness, anger, guilt, or grief." Lolitslea is back with 'Tragedy' ft. Jack the Underdog, bringing an energetic pop punk banger to the table. The track is inspired by the dating scene and how hard it is to find love in a world full of casual dating. The track is just a preview of the band's upcoming record RollerCoaster Tycoon, which is coming out September 15th.
Now onto our HEAVY HITTERS:
Lifespark. comes in hard on 'Missing Piece.' Right away it's catchy and melodic while also bringing lots of breakdowns, and you know how much we love those!
Lastly, we have Thrown giving us 'Critic '. We love a good Thrown song over here, and this one does not disappoint. Their last album drop was in 2024, so hopefully they have something cooking up for us. In the meantime, this track is a banger, and we have a feeling you will think so too.
That's it for now until next week!
