Rufio Returns With First New Music in 16 Years and a Reimagined “Dipshit.

Rufio is back with new music for the first time in 16 years…and that’s not all. 

Fan-favorite track, “Dipshit” from their debut album, “Perhaps, I Suppose…,” Southern California pop-punkers, Rufio, have released a re-recording of the hit track to celebrate 25 years of the beloved album. 

“Dipshit” introduced Rufio’s unique blend of lightning-fast technical guitar work, soaring melodies, and infectious hooks to the world. The re-recording bridges the gap between past and present, while still honoring the era of melodic punk. 

But that’s just the beginning. 

Rufio also announced “From The Outside,” a brand new EP and their first release in 16 years, set to release on August 7. The EP contains five brand new songs, creating music on their own terms. This is the first time in more than a decade that the band has found themselves naturally reconnecting creatively. They wanted to write music that reflected where they are today.

“For the first time, there was no pressure to write a ‘hit,’ and there was no pressure of trying to write according to the direction of the scene – not that it ever mattered to us,” guitar player, Clark Domae, said.

The EP captures a more mature sound, while still being unmistakably them. “From The Outside’ focuses on the realities of adulthood, family, loss, anxiety, and personal growth. 

“From The Outside represents how much we’ve aged,” vocalist Scott Sellers said. “It’s a bit slower, a bit more structured, and a lot more serious lyrically.”

This is the start of a new chapter for Rufio, while still celebrating the career they started nearly three decades ago.
