Remember Endswell? Well, they're BACK!
The band just released their brand-new EP, Everything Confided Will Be Forgotten, on September 25th. The project features 8 brand-new tracks, including bangers 'Frame Your Face', 'Halcyon Days', and, well, let's just say that the whole EP slaps. The goal of this era? Take Midwest Emo and make it heavy. Goal achieved. Endswell perfectly blends the twinkly guitars and pull of Midwest emo with post-hardcore influences. “Everything Confided Will Be Forgotten encapsulates what we set out to do as a band, which was to make heavy emo music." Vocalist Maxwell Culver shares, "The whole thing feels like our lighting-in-a-bottle moment and to me gives off the same energy as our live sets."
We caught up with the band ahead of this release to give you:
THE TOP8 THINGS YOU DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT ENDSWELL (in their own words)
They didn't disappoint.
"WE ARE NOT A SIDE PROJECT. STOP SAYING WE ARE A SIDE PROJECT, PLEASE. THIS IS A REAL PROJECT AND HAS BEEN AROUND BEFORE EMWAY AND FAMOUS TINY VOICES WERE BABIES, AND ALAN/MAXWELL HAVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR LIKE 16 YEARS, CMON MAN."
"We used to cover Drug Lord by William Bonney when we first started playing out. The last show we did it at, someone who was at William Bonney's final show came up to us and told us they were so, so happy to hear that song played live again."
"There’s a music video for 'Heart Container' that we made that most likely won’t see the light of day."
"Alan, our drummer, is the best guitar player in the band and has wrote over half our songs."
"Maxwell, at various points, has lived with every member of Endswell and is somehow still in the band."
"Everyone in the band has a family role. Maxwell is Papa, Kyle is Mama, Luke is Grandpa, Alan is Uncle, and Louie is Baby."
"Kyle, while writing 'Frame Your Face', thought the main riff sounded too Shoegaze and wasn’t going to use it for the band until Maxwell heard it and changed their mind."
"We broke up the old iteration of our band and were gonna call it quits until Alan showed us the Heart Container intro, thus causing Endswell to be born."
